It seems like Toyota is hell-bent on “bringing the future to everyone”, which is exactly why we should totally let them. You know, since they really seem to know what they’re doing.

Of course, we’re talking about fuel cell technology and the appeal of downsizing which now, is more important than ever.

Think about it, this is the age of downsizing, it really is. First of all, it’s a natural process. We (as in scientists and engineers) find ways to make things smaller, better, faster, in order to build more efficiently.

Even our engines have gotten smaller, which is something that certain people still oppose to this day.

Now, if we’re talking about the Toyota Mirai, downsizing means getting the fuel cell stacks to shrink from each generation to the next.

It’s interesting to see how big the fuel cell stack was back in 1996 and how the technology progressed where now it’s more than twice as small.

And even though Elon Musk doesn’t want you to get too close to this type of technology, it seems like car manufacturers such as Toyota and even BMW are betting that there’s more than just one way to ensure an emissions-free future.
