When you’re looking for some comedy, occasions such as the first day of school can be perfect, especially since parents can very easily embarrass their kids without even realizing it.
Old Navy, the clothing and accessories retailer, did an absolutely fantastic job with this spot called “First Day of School Style”. It’s well written, well acted and it even features an Infiniti QX60 – quite a decent way to carpool.
Now, when I say “well acted”, that doesn’t even do justice to someone like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, an absolutely amazing actress that most of us remember from the hit series Seinfeld, where she played Elaine.
More recently though, she’s been equally great as a United States Vice President & President on HBO’s ‘Veep’.
In this video, she plays a somewhat self absorbed elitist mom, that dresses her son to look like “a lawyer” – which is really funny by the way, as is the kid! Most kids in commercials struggle a bit with trying to be funny on camera. Not this one though.
Anyway, I’ll let you guys check out the rest of the video for yourselves, but not before dropping a few quick lines about the QX60.
In the U.S, it has a starting price of $42,400, which is similar to what you’d pay for an entry-level VW Touareg – definitely a better car, though not as roomy.
In terms of performance, it’s got a 3.5 liter V6 engine, delivering 265 HP with the help of a CVT transmission. For an extra $1,400 you can get the AWD (Intelligent All-Wheel Drive) model, which is arguably the better choice.
