Tesla has just shown a short video of a prototype charger that uses a robotic (or solid metal) snake to plug in.

It seems that you basically park your car, open the port at the back and the snake will pinpoint where in needs to plug itself in and will proceed to do it.

This means you’ll drive into your garage and simply walk away from the car – a simple, doable yet very futuristic looking solution.

Most people will probably buy this when and if comes out because it’s cool, not because it saves them a few seconds per trip.

Absolutely no accompanying information was released, but the video title did contain the word prototype, so maybe they are planning on making it commercially available in the future.
