Although Bugatti just teased us with its upcoming supermachine, we’re going to take a trip down memory lane along with this stunning-looking yellow EB110.

Mind you, even compared to the almighty Veyron, this 20-year-old machine still manages to hold its own and make our blood run wild. It won’t shatter any records and it won’t shame any modern supercars, but it does have quad IHI turbos mounted on a 3.5-litre V12 which develops 610 horsepower.

That’s because it’s a Super Sport model – just like a regular EB110 only with added goodness, carbon fiber bits and pieces, new ECU, larger injectors and 50 additional horses. All this makes it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds.

The EB110 is the work of Bugatti Automobili Spa – a company established by former Ferrari dealer Romano Artioli. Artioli and his team of engineers worked for four years to create a car that they believed was worthy of the Bugatti name.

But bear in mind that it comes from a simpler time; a time when Bugattis were known for reaching speeds of only 347 km/h (216 mph) or so.

Unfortunately – in those days – a high end, limited edition, ultra-rare supercar wasn’t enough to keep the Bugatti boat sailing and by 1995 the company was bankrupt. This yellow example, known as chassis number 39038, was one of the last SS models ever built and it sports the same color combination as it did when it left the factory. Moreover, it only has 10,100 kilometers from new and two owners.

With only 33 SS models made over a brief period of time, this variation remains the pinnacle of Bugatti’s resurrection in the 90s. Although its estimated value has yet to be announced, we reckon it will go near the $800,000 mark – or maybe even higher.
