Toyota UK added two new versions of its smallest hybrid on offer, the Yaris Hybrid.

The new Toyota Yaris Hybrid Active becomes the entry-level model of the range and comes equipped with dual-zone climate control, split-folding rear seats and trip computer among others. Price is set at £14,995 for the frugal Toyota which returns a combined 85.6 mpg UK (3.3lt/100km – 71.2 mpg US) and 75g/km of CO2 emissions which makes it a road tax-free model.

The Sport version features rear privacy glass, bigger 16in wheels, rear spoiler among others while the cabin benefits from Toyota’s Touch 2 multimedia system with rear view camera. Toyota offers a panoramic sunroof as a £550 option. The larger wheels slightly increase the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions (78.5mpg UK – 82g/km CO2) with the Yaris Hybrid remaining though eligible for zero road tax.

Power comes from the combination of a 73hp 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 59hp electric motor which gives a total output of 98hp. The power goes through a CVT unit as usual, with the Yaris Hybrid scoring 11.8 seconds for the 0-62mph and a 103mph top speed.
