Following a significant makeover received last year, the Nissan Versa Sedan has received minor updates for the 2016 model year.

These include body-color power outside mirrors now standard on all grade levels, the addition of standard rear speakers for the Versa Sedan S grade, a leather-wrapped steering wheel for the SL grade and two new exterior colors: Cayenne Red and Gun Metallic.

On sale now at Nissan dealers across the United States, the 2016 Nissan Versa Sedan retains the same base price of $11,990, corresponding to the Versa Sedan S with five-speed manual transmission (excluding $825 destination). In addition, the SL grade is now $500 cheaper.

The Nissan Versa Sedan is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 109 horsepower and 107lb-ft (145Nm) of torque, mated as standard to a five-speed manual transmission. Nissan also offers a Xtronic CVT on higher-spec models, which delivers the best fuel economy: 31 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 35 mpg combined. Fuel economy with the five-speed manual is rated at 27/36/30 mpg. There’s also an optional four-speed automatic transmission offered for the base S grade which returns 26/35/30 mpg.

The 2016 Versa Sedan is available in four trim levels: S (5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic), S Plus (Xtronic only), SV (Xtronic only) and SL (Xtronic only).
