Opel has released detailed pricing information and a huge photo gallery of its all-new Astra hatchback.

The most affordable version of the new Astra is the one equipped with the 100PS 1.4-liter all-aluminum petrol engine, which is priced from €17,260 in Germany (including VAT). That’s exactly the same price as the previous generation’s entry-level model.

The model fitted with the new 105PS 1.0-liter 3-cylinder Ecotec Direct Injection Turbo is available from €17,960. Combined with the Easytronic 3.0 automated manual gearbox, the new Astra 1.0 Ecotec emits just 96 grams of CO2 per kilometer and returns 4.2 l/100 km (67.2 mpg UK or 56 mpg US) in the combined cycle.

Another new engine for the Astra is the 1.4 Ecotec Direct Injection Turbo four-cylinder petrol, available with outputs of 125PS or 150PS. Depending on the output, fuel consumption is as low as 4.9 l/100 km (57.6 mpg UK or 48 mpg US), with corresponding CO2 emissions of 114 g/km.

For the moment, the most powerful petrol engine available on the new Astra is the 1.6 Ecotec Direct Injection Turbo with 200PS and 300Nm (221lb-ft) of torque (with overboost). Equipped with this unit, the Astra delivers mid-range acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear in 7.5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 235 km/h (146 mph).

As for diesel engines, prices start at €20,260 for the 1.6 CDTI with 95PS. The engine is also available in more powerful states of tune of 110PS and 136PS. The economy champion is the 110PS model, which averages 3.4 l/100 km (83 mpg UK or 69.1 mpg US) and 90 g/km CO2.

The Astra is offered with three transmission types: five and six-speed manual transmissions, the automated manual transmission Easytronic 3.0 and a six-speed automatic transmission. The latter is available in combination with the 150PS 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine and the 136PS 1.6 CDTI.

The full matrix IntelliLux LED headlights offered on the new Astra are a €1,150 option, making it €100 cheaper than the BiXenon AFL+ of the previous generation. The Opel OnStar personal connectivity and service assistant will be standard for Astra’s upper trim levels Dynamic and Innovation (optional in Essentia and Enjoy), with the first year of use to be offered free of charge.

The new Astra will also debut the new generation of IntelliLink infotainment systems, with the Radio R 4.0 IntelliLink offered as standard in all trim levels from Enjoy upwards. The system includes a 7-inch touchscreen, a Bluetooth interface, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
