Bentley’s first ever SUV, the Bentayga, will become the most expensive SUV offered in the US when it goes on sale next year – at least until Rolls-Royce launches its own crossover.

The automaker has announced a starting price of $229,100 in the US, which is expected to become the model’s biggest market worldwide. In the UK, the Bentley Bentayga will be priced from £160,200, while in Germany it will start at €208,500. Global deliveries of the new model begin early next year.

Currently, the most expensive SUVs offered in the US are the Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG ($218,000) and the Range Rover SVAutobiography ($200,000). However, the Bentayga will likely be eclipsed in terms of pricing by Rolls-Royce’s new SUV codenamed “Project Cullinan.” That model is expected to cost as much as…$400,000 when in launches in 2018.

Bentley will also have to face competition from similarly priced upcoming models such as the Aston Martin DBX, Lamborghini Urus and Maserati Levante.

The VW-owned British brand previously said it hopes to sell around 3,500 Bentayga models in a full year, which would push the company’s annual sales to around 15,000 by 2018. In 2014, Bentley sold 11,020 cars, a new record for the brand.

Besides the United States, China and Russia are also expected to become major markets for the Bentayga.
