After over five years of work, since the first scale model of the Bloodhound SSC was revealed, the land speed record vehicle is finally complete. It is a historic moment that will be celebrated in a special event to be held in London on September 25.

The location is the fashionable East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf and entry is free. However, you will be given a timed ticket and only be allowed a certain time inside, as they understandably want as many people to see the Bloodhound as possible.

As a reminder, the Bloodhound SSC, the successor to the famous Thust SSC that tore through the sound barrier on land in 1997, hitting 763 mph or 1,228 km/h.

Now the desire is to achieve 1,000 mph or 1,609 km/h, thanks to its extra power over the previous SSC speed record car. The Bloodhound has the equivalent of 135,000 hp, whereas the Thrust had 110,000 hp.
