For most people, Mercedes-AMG GT S’ output of 510PS (503hp) is more than enough, but Brabus’ customers aren’t “most people”. This is why the German tuner will bring to the Frankfurt Motor Show an upgraded GT S model with 600PS (592hp), as well as enhanced styling and equipment features.

The Brabus PowerXtra B40 – 600 performance kit for the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine of the GT S consists of new mapping for injection and ignition as well as increased boost pressure. The modifications result in an additional 90PS (88hp) and 100Nm (74lb-ft) of torque, for an output of 600PS (592hp) at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 750Nm (553lb-ft) at 4,800 rpm.

Thanks to these upgrades, the Mercedes-AMG GT S sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds (0.2 seconds quicker than the stock car) and reaches a top speed of 325 km/h (201 mph), an increase of 15 km/h.

Besides engine tuning, Brabus added a sports quad exhaust made from extremely lightweight titanium which weighs about 40 percent less than the production exhaust and optimizes the power delivery of the V8 engine. It’s also fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves operated from the cockpit that allow the driver to set the engine’s sound level.

Brabus also fitted the car with a sports suspension with a series of selectable settings for damping and ride height. The sports springs lower the ride height of GT S by about 15mm (0.6in).

Styling upgrades include a carbon aero kit consisting of more aggressive bumpers and spoilers, new design air outlets for the front fenders, new rocker panels and a rear diffuser with tailor-made cutouts for the four tailpipes. The Brabus-modified Mercedes-AMG GT S rides on ultra-light Monoblock F forged wheels with diameters of 20 inches on the front axle and 21 inches at the rear.

For the interior, customers can choose exclusive accessories such as carbon scuff plates with stainless-steel inserts and a backlit Brabus logo, matte anodized or chrome-plated aluminum pedals and aluminum paddle shifters in an even more ergonomic position.

Like all Brabus models, the GT S can be personalized with fine leather and Alcantara interiors tailored to the owners’ preferences when it comes to color and the design and the upholstery. The inlays for dashboard, center console and door panels can also be customized with carbon and precious wood trim sets in any desired color and with different surface finishes.
