Ford is going to show off a behind the scenes documentary on the development work that resulted in the new Focus RS. It’s not going to be one big movie, though, but rather a series of episodes each concentrating on a specific area.

The first such episode was just uploaded and it focuses on Ken Block’s involvement with the Focus RS project. Block’s input was translated into the setup of the RS, which we do already know promises to be very good at powersliding. It’s also apparently a car that will really flatter the novice, make him or her feel like a much better driver.

In the next installment of this series, Ford will show off the development work it did in Germany.

The only problem is this really should have been a single movie and not this splitting into episodes. We get why Ford is doing it, but we would have preferred one single longer backstage look at the new RS. That would have been a documentary – this is just a marketing gimmick with no substance.

Does anybody remember the Lotus Elise development documentary series? That shames this on so many different levels.
