Honda Civic Tourer Active Life Concept Winks At Cyclists

Honda’s Civic Tourer Active Life Concept unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show serves to showcase the estate’s generous cargo space and versatility by turning it into a bicycle carrier.

Thanks to the Civic Tourer’s 1,668 liters of interior space (with the rear seats folded) and low loading height, the study can transport two bicycles on a smart loading rack.

A retractable arm which can be extended from the rack makes maintenance and repairs easier. The concept also features a built in integrated air pump, a large light located on the tailgate, an extended shade area and a retractable bench.

The list of accessories is long and also includes a toolbox, bottle holder, water tank and a front wheel holder which are all integrated within the trunk side lining. Other storage solutions include a special aero shape roof box designed to accommodate essential cycling accessories such as shoes and helmets.

Styling-wise, the Civic Tourer Active Life Concept features a custom blue paint finish with a lower gun-metallic gradation and a silver roofline. The car rides on new 18-inch alloy wheels and sports a custom design rear bumper.

Inside, the study features seats that combine both suede and leather and feature a carbon tape with blue piping that runs along the center and along the upper outer areas of the seat. Blue stitching can be found on the steering wheel and on the gear shift, while the black roof lining reminds of the Civic Sport and Civic Type R.
