Since you’re probably used to seeing the Porsche 911 Turbo S frustrate equally powerful or even more powerful opponents, we thought we’d mix it up a bit and show you how it does against “human power”.

Now, you’re probably wondering what these dudes were thinking, trying to out-accelerate one of the fastest accelerating cars on Earth (and any other planet, as far as we know), using nothing but their running shoes.

But it just so happens there’s some sports science behind these types of “experiments”. Take Usain Bolt for example, since it’s not like we can do any better. This man is capable of covering nearly 35 feet per second (10 meters/sec) which is an absolutely incredible pace.

Now,  let’s say that the 911 Turbo S you’re driving is able to hit 60 mph in 2.6 seconds – since that’s the equivalent of 88 feet per second, it means that this car is clearly faster than our fastest runner once it starts accelerating.

However, if you look at the numbers even further, it would stand that Bolt could cover 60 feet in a little under 2 seconds. So in reality, such a fast runner would only need a split second head start over the car in order to cross the 60 ft line pretty much at the same time as this Porsche 911, which is where the guys in this video kind of failed.

Yes, the idea behind this video is cool, but only if the human element is at its best. Otherwise, we’re just witnessing a Porsche 911 Turbo S do what it does best – get off the line like it was being launched out of a cannon.
