Electric car fans rejoice, after Tesla nearly unveiled the Model X, the American electric car manufacturer is getting ready to move the spotlight on the Model 3.

We thought that Tesla’s Model 3… model might be revealed next year, but know we know for certain because the man himself confirmed it. Yes, Elon Musk twitted that the smaller and lower costing sedan will start production in about 2 years, but not before debuting in March 2016 – possibly at Geneva.

Moreover, according to the business magnate, the automobile will be available for pre-order minutes after its unveiling and it will cost $35,000. Now, there’s just a little small flaw in Musk’s plan and it’s called the Gigafactory.

In order for the Model 3 to be offered at a relatively cheap price, Tesla must build its batteries in a large scale factory that will ultimately drive down the cost of lithium-ion accumulators and allow the company to produce mass market electric cars. The only problem is the Gigafactory doesn’t exist. Yet.

So, theoretically, for the $35,000 Tesla Model 3 to happen in the next 2 years, the $5 billion Gigafactory must happen in less time than that.
