The all-new and radically-styled Toyota Prius was unveiled in Las Vegas last night and the videos are pouring in. Not only is a new Prius a big deal, but this particular new version is controversially styled, which means it’s bound to get people talking about it.

The launch venue was of the typical big-budget fashion and had an entire audience screaming and cheering as the (hybrid, economy-biased) car was driven on stage. Whoever thought people would be this excited about a Prius?

In regards to the styling, a much discussed topic ever since we saw those two cars inside the plane, but I think it’s more successful than the fuel cell Mirai. The new Prius’ front looks good, if a bit flamboyant and mad, but without becoming an eyesore.

The rear end is a different story and not as successful as the front, I think, but it too is better than the Mirai’s and shows Toyota’s intention to turn the Prius into more of a sedan. The interior looks like standard Toyota fare, if a bit more modern than other cars in the range.

Check out the Prius at its launch venue in the videos posted below via CNET and TFLCar.
