Next year, the SsangYong Tivoli SUV will get a bigger brother and this is (roughly) what it will look like.

SsangYong is previewing the longer Tivoli at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the XLV-Air, a name that derives from “eXciting smart Lifestyle Vehicle.” Arriving in early 2016, the new Tivoli variant will be longer and will offer increased luggage space compared to the regular model.

SsangYong did not release dimensions, so we don’t know whether the added length of the vehicle comes from an extended wheelbase and longer rear overhang or just the latter.

What is clear though is that the XLV-Air looks more elegant than the Tivoli thanls to the addition of a third lateral window that gives the profile a more flowing look. The bumpers and taillights are different as well from the production Tivoli.

Just as its shorter sibling, the longer SsangYong Tivoli will be offered with a choice of 1.6-liter petrol or 1.6-liter diesel engines mated to 6-speed automatic (Aisin) or manual transmissions. It will also be available in both two- and four-wheel drive configurations.
