If you’re a Dakar rally fan than the name Stephane Peterhansel will instantly ring a bell. He was recently asked to drive a new 308 GTi for an official promo video put together by Peugeot.

We could obviously never mistake this for a review, as this is not a new practice and purely meant to promote the car. Ford and Renault also used similar methods to draw attention to the driving dynamics of their more recent hot hatches too.

Peterhansel drives the 308 GTi on a track and he calls it precise, safe and almost lacking in body roll through the corners. He rates the gear shift as precise and also notes the brakes are especially powerful.

Again, this isn’t a review per se, but it does show the car in action on track, something we’ve not had a chance to see until now.
