The new and highly anticipated Tesla Model X has finally been officially unveiled, and journos have managed to get behind the wheel for preliminary test drives.

This video by CNET is about one such short drive, one that’s filled with praise and surprisingly insightful. It takes a look at the car’s driving characteristics, the interior space, quality and the availability of the vehicle.

One thing we spotted in the video were the electric rear seats. These are raised electrically in order to allow access to the third row, but when they do, they arrange themselves in a very elegant fan-like model. It’s probably the single sexiest third row access system ever conceived, even if that’s not saying much…

Don’t mistake this for a fully fledged review, because it isn’t one, but as a first impression it adds a context to this still unfamiliar Tesla vehicle.
