Less than a month after spotting Bentley testing an extended wheelbase version of their Mulsanne, the British maker rolled out a prototype for a facelift of the standard wheelbase model.

Even at this exotic premium level, automakers prefer to keep things simple wherever they can, so the same modest styling changes seen on the front and rear ends of the LWB Mulsanne tester can be found on the regular wheelbase version.

As such, there’s a tweaked grille, a redesigned bumper with different air intakes and re-positioned outer, auxiliary lights on the Mulsanne’s fascia, while at the back, the only thing we noticed is the flatter section of the bumper right under the boot’s edge, which protrudes more on the current model.

By the time Bentley presents the car next year, reportedly at the Geneva Motor Show in March, we might see some light revisions to the tail lamp graphics, while some styling and equipment updates are expected in the interior as well.

The existing range of engines, which include the base 505hp (512PS) and 1,020Nm (752 lb-ft) twin-turbo 6.75-liter V8 and the Speed’s 530hp (537PS) and 1,110Nm (811 lb-ft) version of the same unit, should remain unchanged, but we could see Bentley adding a hybrid powertrain that was previewed on their 2014 Mulsanne Hybrid Concept.
