Limited edition BMWs are in great demand in the land of the Rising Sun. Apparently the German car manufacturer’s local division is very aware of this and is continuously brainstorming new ways of coming up with interesting automotive offerings.

The latest ones to hit the showrooms are a couple of M4s variants which look the same but are targeting two different types of individuals. For starters, there’s a M4 Coupe “M Performance Edition” which is limited to only 17 cars and is reminiscent of the motor sport world, while the other – called the M4 Coupe “Individual Edition” – is limited to 10 cars and is defined by a more luxurious character.

Mind you, both cars sport the exact same powertrain, which means the twin-turbocharged, inline-six, 3.0-litre engine developing 425 hp and 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque mated to a 7-speed transmission, with just the visual style cues setting them apart.

The M Performance comes equipped with carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, rear trunk spoiler, mirror covers and interior trim and lots of racing details, and the Individual Edition sports individual Merino Opal White Leather, Individual leather finish dashboard, piano-black/pearl gloss chrome highlights, adaptive M-Suspension and a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
