Porsche’s slant-nose 930 Turbos are a rare breed in any form and in any country, so you can imagine just how scarcer left-hand drive units are these days.

Only 50 were ever built for the United Kingdom between 1986 and 1989 and it all so happens that the very first one and the very last to cross the British channel are up for grabs at the upcoming Silverstone Auctions event.

First up is a 1985 Porsche 930 Turbo SE ‘Flatnose’ that was the first UK delivered car serving as Porsche GB’s press car, originally wearing ‘911 HUL’ number plate and having made many appearances in magazines of the time.

It’s finished in its original color of Silver Metallic, and as you’d expect from a press car, it’s loaded and comes with rare factory options such as the Recaro Ideal ‘C’ seats in special order Can-Can Red, an engine conversion with 330bhp that’s up from the original model’s 300bhp, modified front spoiler and oil cooler.

Silverstone Auctions says it has complete service books, manuals, invoices and previous MOT certificates “to substantiate the low mileage status of only 33,500 miles (53,901km)”, though, as a press car, this was no doubt driven hard during its prime. It’s estimated to fetch around £150,000 to £170,000 (approx. $227,000 to $258,000).

The other 930 Turbo SE ‘Flatnose’ is from 1989 and it was the last one delivered to the UK. It also came with the 330bhp engine upgrade (though, it was later modified by Porsche specialist RuF to the tune of 450bhp), along with the five-speed ‘G50’ gearbox, a limited slip differential, heated front seats and a sunroof. It has covered 32,500 miles (52,292 km) since new with the auction house believing it will sell for a similar price to the first ‘Flatnose’.

The auction will be held at the Silverstone Circuit on October 25.
