The current Land Rover Discovery (or LR3/LR4 as it is known in the United States) has been around since 2004, with the 2009 facelift bringing mostly cosmetic modifications. It goes without saying that an all-new model is needed, but we’ll have to wait until next year.

Meanwhile, Land Rover has released two new special edition models called Landmark and Graphite (the latter not available in the US). So what’s new about them? Besides styling upgrades inside and out, nothing much.

Based on the HSE trim, the Land Rover Discovery Landmark brings a series of exterior styling tweaks including full length roof rails in a bright finish, black fender vents, grille and mirror caps, silver bonnet and tailgate badges, as well as Landmark badging to the side and rear. The SUV rides on 20-inch 5-split spoke alloy wheels.

The Discovery Landmark is available in a limited range of five body colors, including the exclusive Zanzibar. The other four available colors are Waitomo Grey, Santorini Black, Yulong White and Indus Silver.

Inside, the special edition Disco brings Windsor Leather seats and Extended Leather Pack for the dashboard, door casings and fascia. Three interior color schemes are offered: Ebony, Almond and Tan. The latter is offered for the first time ever in a Discovery, combining Tan Windsor Leather Seats with by Ebony door casings and fascia and a Straight Grained Walnut veneer trim finisher. The Discovery Landmark starts from £55,995 in the UK, €64,950 in Germany.

The second special edition model, the Discovery Graphite, builds on the success of the Black Pack and adds striking finishes such as the grey Graphite finish to the fender vents and grille (which also sports a gloss black and lighter grey frame), door handles and Discovery badging. In addition, the Discovery Graphite comes with standard 19-inch 7-split spoke alloy wheels in high gloss dark grey that are exclusive to this model.

Customers can choose between nine body colors and three interior color combinations. The Discovery Graphite is priced from £47,495 in the UK (€57,000 in Germany).

Available to order from the end of October, the special edition Discovery SUVs will be delivered from January 2016 onwards.
