Lotus has renewed their entire Driving Academy fleet, as five Elise 220 Cup, two Exige S and one Exige S Club Racer join the new Evora 400 on the famous Hethel test track in Norfolk.

The Evora 400 is certainly one of the most capable track cars money can buy. It’s got a 400 HP 3.5-liter V6 engine, which also produces 410 Nm (302 lb-ft) of torque, making it a little bit quicker than the previous Evora S model.

In terms of weight, the ‘400’ tips the scales at 1,395 kg (3,075 lbs), which helps it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).

In addition to the launch of the new fleet, the Lotus Driving Academy also announced two new driving experiences for passionate car enthusiasts, called the Exige Experience and the Evora Experience, which will join the already successful Elise Experience.

The Evora Experience will set you back £349 and includes a vehicle dynamics briefing, two 20 minute track driving sessions and tours of the Lotus factory and motorsport facility.

“We are pleased to offer potential customers and track driving enthusiasts the opportunity to drive the new Lotus Evora 400 and our other high-performance models at our Hethel test track. Lotus prides itself on offering benchmark handling and pure driving experience and the Evora 400, developed at Hethel, is the latest proof of this concept. To drive the Evora 400 at the very track used throughout the model development process is a truly unique and privileged opportunity and we are delighted to be able to offer this experience to the public,” said Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales.

The first ever Evora Experience event will take place on October 30, when 6 lucky customers will be among the first to drive the Evora 400 on the Hethel test track.
