Kia has released US pricing for its all-new 2016 Optima midsize sedan, which has a starting MSRP of $21,840 (excluding destination), the same as the outgoing model.

The starting price corresponds to the base LX trim level with the 185hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. The 2016 Optima is offered with five trim levels (LX, LX 1.6T, EX, SX and SXL) and with three engine choices, all of which offer more standard features than the outgoing model.

The list of standard equipment for the base LX grade includes six-way adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar, six-way adjustable front passenger’s seat with height adjuster, a Rear Camera Display, Bluetooth hands-free operation, driver’s knee airbag, keyless entry system, and a five-inch touchscreen.

The 2016 Optima LX 1.6T starts from $23,990 and offers a similar package minus the 2.4-liter engine, which is replaced by a 178hp turbocharged 1.6-liter unit mated to a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).

Starting at $24,890, the 2016 Optima EX is offered exclusively with the 2.4-liter engine and includes dual projection headlights with LED positioning lights, LED tail lights, power folding heated outside mirrors, a 12-way adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support and two-position integrated memory system, heated steering wheel and leather-trimmed heated front seats.

The 2016 Optima SX and Optima SXL come standard with the 247hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Priced from $29,690 and $35,790, respectively, the SX and SXL add Bi-Xenon HID headlights with Dynamic Bending Lamps (DBL). The SXL also comes with the intuitive High Beam Assist (HBA), which recognizes oncoming traffic and automatically switches the lights to low beam until the opposing vehicle has passed.
