Lately, the newly-launched beautiful Dawn model kept Rolls-Royce from sharing many other bespoke products with us, but now, as the dust settles, the British firm presents the Chicane Phantom Coupe.

This exquisite “diamond in the rough” is the latest product of Rolls’ bespoke program and, according to its maker, it’s inspired by the rich motor sport history of the Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit. As the Rolls-Royce aficionados might tell you, Goodwood is the home of the luxury car manufacturer, and even though the marque’s character seems against any form of motor-racing, that doesn’t stop the brand for paying its tributes.

Colored wheels match the Phantom’s Gunmetal exterior paint finish, which is interestingly complemented by matte-black details. The car is garnished with a “racing theme”, beautifully and subtly furnished in its design. A bespoke coachline with a checkered flag motif embellishes the side of the automobile’s body, while the interior benefits from the same details, hand stitched in the stunning red leather seats.

The overall red interior greatly complements the Phantom’s solemn exterior, and instead of sporting wood-grain interior accents, the Roller’s center console is adorned in carbon fiber. It won’t make the car sportier and lighter, although the 6.75-litre V12 behemoth under the automobile’s hood allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.7 seconds, but it’s a great and unique design exercise.

* Note: Alas, even though it was shared on Rolls Royce’s social media accounts this week, the bespoke Chicane Phantom Coupe isn’t as new as we thought, as it was presented back in 2013. Thanks to reader Jonny for jogging our memory…
