New Limited Edition Cooper S Jermyn Is Mini’s Latest Offering To Japan

Mini celebrates its British heritage and culture with a special edition dedicated to Japan.

This may look like an ordinary stylish Mini Cooper, but the attention to detail that went into it is top-notch. It kind of reminds of a bespoke manufactured automobile, encompassing classic British flair and panache.

It’s called the Cooper Jermyn and it’s named after Jermyn Street in the Mayfair district of London – a place dedicated almost exclusively to the gentlemen’s clothing market. As a matter of fact, this particular Mini variant is advertised as “the car for the gentlemen” – a “spot on” portrayal given its elegant, yet sober interior, garnished with a rich-texture cottonwood grain, nappa leather and lots of subtle design cues. I, for one, lost track counting the number of Union Jacks available in the car.

The car comes finished in a “Lapis Luxury Blue” hue described as the “blue of kings”, as its inspired by a semi-precious stone named lapis lazuli, while the painting process employs a special pigment color. Of course, most men would refer to it as “blue” and won’t probably care about it very much, albeit it does look stellar with those awesome 18-inch wheels by its side.

Speaking of rims, they’re apparently inspired by the chronograph of the mechanical watch, which explains the watch mechanism pic in the gallery below.

Anyway, the car only comes as a Cooper S option (accompanied by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged 4-pot), but in both 5 door and 3 door configuration. Its exclusivity will be limited to only 180 units in Japan (40 three door variant units and 140 five door variant units), while the cheapest 3 door version will cost the equivalent of $34,294.
