The 2016 Scion FR-S will be available in a new, limited edition version of which 1,000 units will be built. The 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 is essentially a follow-up to the 2015 FR-S Release Series 1.0, with the automaker describing it as “the most stylish version of the sports car ever offered.”

The most exclusive Scion Release Series yet comes with luxurious appointments and premium features, as well as a classy exterior. The car sports a unique Lunar Storm paint and dedicated 17-inch forged alloy wheels, as well as a unique aero kit which includes spoilers on both the front lip and trunk.

Inside, the 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 gets heated seats in black Alcantara and leather with camel-colored accents, plus leather-trimmed steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake lever. Camel trim is also used on the door armrest and the upper door trim, while the center armrest and knee pads are black. Camel accent stitching is found throughout the interior, while the dash insert features an embroidered the release series badge, sequentially numbered from 1 to 1000.

Equipment-wise, the new limited edition FR-S is offered with Smart key with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control and HID headlamps with LED daylight running lamps.

The 2016 FR-S Release Series 2.0 can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology. Prices start from $29,510 for the manual transmission and $30,610 for the automatic transmission, excluding the delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $795.
