While most people might be satisfied with a 380 PS Jaguar SUV, those hoping to get Macan Turbo-type performances out of it would be forced to look someplace else.

That is unless Jaguar do stick their supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine under the hood of the F-Pace. As it stands right now, the F-Pace can only manage a 5.5 second 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint at its best – which is great, obviously, but still over half a second slower than Porsche’s top of the range Macan.

A quicker and more powerful F-Pace SUV would bring some visual changes with it, which this rendering reflects pretty accurately. It’s got revised bumpers and sills, reduced ground clearance and a couple of dark design elements such as the grille and bumper inserts.

If our poll from last month is any indication, potential buyers might actually prefer to roll the dice with the F-Pace, as long as it’s not considerably under-powered compared to the Macan.

With this in mind, a faster F-Pace version would do well to show up in the “flesh” sooner rather than later – and if it ends up looking anything like this, would anyone really mind it? And who knows, it might actually give the Macan Turbo (unchallenged in terms of agility thus far) a genuine scare.
