Have you ever wanted a compact MPV that goes just like a standard, ordinary MPV but looks sporty? Well, then you’ll surely love this R-Line Volkswagen Touran.

Based on the ever popular Volkswagen Golf platform, the Touran borrows a whole lot of stuff from its sibling, including powerplants, technical aspects and styling cues. Even so, the sporty, now-available R-line optional package, offered specifically to improve the multi-purpose-vehicle’s dynamic appearance, seems to be exclusively made for the Touran.

The pack covers numerous exterior and interior details, being instantly recognizable by the two wing-like, gloss-black, C-shape air intakes on the front apron, and the R-Line logo featured on the radiator grille. At the derrière, the bumper has a sporty, sharp contours and is complemented by a chrome strip. High-gloss black side sills, silver anodized roof rails, R-line logos and a choice of 17 or 18-inch wheels complete the exterior package.

Seating with “Race” fabric covers can be found at the interior, along with “Black Lead Grey” decorative inlays for the instrument panel and front door panels, fabric floor mats with decorative stitching in “Crystal Grey”, front door tread aluminum plates, and stainless steel pedals. Of course, a leather-trimmed, aluminum-decorated steering wheel couldn’t have missed from the overall pack.

So, how much does it cost to transform a Touran into an angry-looking beast? Well, €2,155 ($2,413) for the full R-line package, but if you want to go only for the sporty customization of the bodywork, the “exterior pack” is available from €760 ($851). Of course, you’ll probably have to go with the 1.8 TSI 178hp petrol, or the 2.0 TDI 187hp diesel powerplants in order to make the R-line pack count for something
