With its recently-launched SUV registering a lot of positive feedback and attention from the motoring world and potential customers, Bentley apparently wants to milk the Bentayga dry.

And what a better way to do it than add a four-door-coupe body style in the SUV’s line-up? Auto Express unnamed sources say that the British car manufacturer plans to debut such a vehicle “sometime next year”, and may even produce a concept to preview at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

To make the rumor even more enticing, the British magazine reports that Bentley product line director, Peter Guest, said the new car will be “much more biased towards on-road performance”, whilst maintaining its four-door and four-seat layout (yes, that’s how an SUV should look like), stating:

“It might not have as much luggage space as the Bentayga. But it will be much more aggressively styled, a lot faster, a lot more dramatic.”

As if other brands weren’t challenged by the “normal” Bentayga to create even more premium products, it now seems that the alleged upcoming Bentley-branded SUV may attract potential GLE Coupe and X6 customers looking for a more luxurious, yet sporty option.

Rumors say that the SUV will use an uprated variant of the W12 already used on the original creation, and it will get bigger bumpers, wheels and a sportier stance.

With all the ideas going on at Bentley right now, including a possible smaller SUV, a sports car, a drop-head Mulsanne, and even a hypercar, you should take this new information with a grain of salt – although it’s fairly possible to see the car maker concentrate on developing another variant of their the most profitable car of the moment.
