Fiat revealed their new new Fullback pickup truck at the Dubai Motor Show which will go against the Toyota Hilux, the VW Amarok and the Mitsubishi L200.

If you think that the new Fullback reminds you of the latter, it’s because the two cars are practically the same, with Fiat fitting their badges on a Mitsubishi L200. The new Fiat Fullback will be offered with a double-cab body and a payload of 1,045kg.

Power will come from a 2.4-litre aluminum diesel engine with either 150hp or 180hp with Fiat offering two transmission choices, a six speed manual and a five-speed automatic. As with its Japanese sibling, the new Fiat Fullback features a full-time four wheel drive system and will probably show the competition a trick or two, thanks to its lightweight construction.

Mopar, FCA’s official after-sales brand, is currently developing a full range of accessories for the company’s first medium-duty pickup truck which will be available in Europe by 2016, including the UK.
