Nissan has set the stage in LA for a genuine Street Art Battle as a trio of specially wrapped Versa Notes are currently serving time as canvases for three local street artists.

The reason why Nissan’s creative juices are flowing is of course the Versa Note Color Studio model, which we already covered last week. However, letting the customer choose between 13 exterior and interior accents is entirely different from letting a bunch of artists dictate just how colorful their Notes are going to be.

Let’s just say that the talented LA street artists really went to town, making these cars their own while sticking to Nissan’s “Pursuit of Happiness” and “Color Changes Everything” themes.

According to Dan Mohnke, sales & marketing VP, the Street Art Battle is “a great way to preview the Versa Note Color Studio, which will make its official debut during the LA Auto Show. Even more, it’s a fantastic way for Nissan to connect with the local art scene in Los Angeles – a group of people that appreciates creativity and innovation much like Nissan does.”

The three artists in question are Annie Preece, Jaime Reyes and Sebastien Walker, and as far as we can tell, they all came up with some pretty cool ways to interpret Nissan’s two themes. Annie’s design, for one, looks particularly spectacular thanks to that flowing flame effect on the front end of the car. Of course, the cartoon animals look pretty darn impressive as well.

“The LA Auto Show is a great venue for these artists to showcase their skills by turning a Nissan Versa into their canvas, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it,” said event host Justin Bua.

The street battle will continue into the afternoon, even after Nissan’s LA Auto Show press conference, while the cars will remain on display through November 29.
