Sporting a more dynamic and less angular look than any previous-generation Impreza, this particular Impreza Sedan Concept features a seamless muscular design and is instantly recognizable as a 4-door Subaru.

It’s important to know that the design language used on this concept won’t just make its way over to the production Impreza, but also to other Subaru models in the near future. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with concepts that have a powerful and aggressive stance, so this is great news so far.

Subaru say that the Impreza Sedan Concept’s aerodynamic performance is achieved by combining functionality and styling, reflected through the integrated rear spoiler, shoulder line, and even the Ruby Red Metallic exterior color with glossy black accents.

What makes this Subaru “a Subaru” is the easily recognizable hexagonal grille, the hawk-eye headlights and the flared fenders. The Japanese manufacturer also mentions how the wide stance and the fender flares are somehow an expression of Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system – but when a concept looks this good, we can let them get away with saying overly figurative things.

Unlike the first Impreza Concept we saw last month, the Sedan makes it easier for us to focus on its rear end – since that’s a very important part of any 4-door saloon. The taillights look a little less three-dimensional and more angular compared to the 5-door concept, which might be considered a bit of a downgrade. Otherwise, it’s hard to argue against this being a very sporty looking sedan.

There’s also no difference in wheelbase size (105.1 in / 2,669 mm) between sedan and hatchback concepts, though as expected we’re looking at a longer car (179.3 in / 4,554 mm), which happens to be a little less wide (70 in / 1,778 mm) than its 5-door counterpart.
