This story is not just about a classic BMW, but about the very essence of the bond between man and machine.

Your first car will always feel special, even if it was just a rolling mess with wheels vaguely attached to it. But this story works as a reminder to our first love, and how we had plans about turning it even better, even more desirable.

Meet Carter Kelly Kramer and his beautiful 1976 BMW 2002. He first bought the car sight unseen at the age of 16 off Ebay and what he got is a car far worse than originally described. And being at that young age, he soon sent the car through a fence.

Kramer had no option but to work on the car himself with little knowledge of what it takes to get it back on the road. “I had a pair of garden shears, I had a hack saw, I had a crowbar and a sledgehammer,” he says. “I slowly learned by taking the car apart how the car goes together.”
