To mark the start of a six-month countdown to the first round of the Toyota 86 Racing Series, the Japanese car manufacturer’s Down Under division has prepped an eye-catching limited-edition package.

Offered with a subtle body kit featuring statin-black accents, gloss-black 17-inch alloy wheels, and a black interior complemented by distinctive red highlights, this limited-spec GT86 was baptized the “Blackline Edition”

According to Toyota, the name derives from the twin black stripes on the roof and bonnet, accentuated by the model’s “white liquid” main paint job. Furthermore, the body-kit includes a front spoiler, side skirts, a three-piece rear spoiler, rear lower bumper and fender garnishes, and it was sourced from Toyota’s own TRD division.

In the interior, the black and red color combo is what separates this distinctive model from the regular variants, while it also appears to sport a wide array of upgrades, such as stainless-steel inserts, leather-accented front seats with Alcantara inserts, and aluminium pedals . Oh, and it also comes with a 6.1-inch touch screen that displays satellite navigation (with live traffic updates), reversing camera image, audio interface, and keyless smart entry as standard.

Toyota says that only 450 of these special units will leave the factory (250 manuals and 200 automatics), with prices starting at 37,990 AUD ($27333) for the manual variants, and 40,490 AUD ($29,126) for the automatic.
