Two new Euro 6 engines are making their way to the new VW Caddy panel van range in the UK, with prices starting at £13,500 for the 2-liter TDI 75 PS EU6 short wheelbase model.

Aside from the 75 PS version of the 2.0-liter turbodiesel unit, the Caddy is also getting a 150 PS engine, pretty much the polar opposite of the ultra-economical 75 PS one, as both are now available across all three trim levels – Startline, Trendline and Highline.

The Caddy Maxi (long wheelbase model) will only get the 2.0 TDI 150 PS unit, while the slightly older 102 PS Euro 6 engine will continue to be offered on both Caddy and Caddy Maxi models.

Until the end of the year, both new Euro 6 engines will be offered at the same price as their Euro 5 equivalents, giving customers a solid incentive to head on over to their local VW Van Center. Aside from having BlueMotion technology as standard, the new Euro 6 engines are also packaged with low rolling resistance tires, start/stop system, hill hold assist and regenerative braking without any extra cost.

The entry-level Startline model isn’t too shabby as far as standard equipment goes, having electric windows, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, a five-inch touchscreen Composition Color radio system with DAB+ and Bluetooth capability, a lockable glovebox, as well as driver, front passenger, front, side, and curtain airbags, plus a new post-collision braking system.

The pricier Trendline version (£15,670) has everything the Startline has, on top of the full wheel covers, body colored bumpers, door handles and mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control, multi function display, driver’s lumbar support, under-seat storage and sun visors with vanity mirrors.

As for the top of the range Highline, it starts from £16,650 and also features alloy wheels, front fog lights and daytime running lights, Climatic air conditioning, heated front windscreen, automatic dimming rear-view mirror, Thatcham category 1 alarm and windscreen wipers with intermittent control and rain sensor.

Some of the options for the Caddy include the Park Assist & rear-view camera system, as well as High Beam Assist, Driver Alert systems, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Braking.

Inside, the Caddy also gets a new upholstery to go with its enhanced stereo and infotainment systems.
