In traditional Hennessey Performance style, the Texas tuner isn’t wasting any time when it comes to modifying the potent Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 having just taken delivery of a stunning white and blue example.

Before Hennessey can think about upgrading the track-focused muscle car, they recently strapped it down to their recognisable dyno and watched as the car punched out some very impressive figures.

With the naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V8 engine being taken to its limits, it managed to deliver 482 hp and 407 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels, equating to around 530 hp and 448 lb-ft at the crank, just above Ford’s official figures for the car. While the figures themselves are very impressive, certainly the key highlight of this video is hearing the V8 rev right up to its 8250 rpm limit all while emitting a screaming bellow unlike any car we’ve heard before.

Currently, Hennessey is working on a package, dubbed HPE800, for the Shelby GT350. The name is a giveaway, as the target is to extract 808 hp and 657 lb-ft thanks, among others, to the addition of a supercharger. That, Hennessey says, should be enough to send the ‘Stang to 60 mph in as little as 3.3 seconds and down the quarter mile in just 10.8 seconds at 133 mph.
