On February 7, 2016, Super Bowl 50 will be held in Santa Clara, California at Levi’s Stadium. Now, Acura has confirmed that it will have an advertising spot during the coverage.

Details are limited but it is reported that the spot will highlight the presence of Acura across North America. There’s a strong likelihood that the brand new NSX will be featured heavily throughout given its importance to the brand‘s image as well as its development of advanced hybrid technologies.

In 2016, production of the NSX will commence in Ohio and as the car itself was designed and developed largely in the U.S., it truly is an American supercar despite being produced by a Japanese automaker. Given the massive local audience of the Super Bowl, it would be the perfect opportunity for Acura to highlight this.

Of course powering the Honda NSX is a powertrain unlike any other on the market. It includes a twin-turbocharged V6 engine itself delivering 500 hp and displacing 3.5-litres. Additional power is provided by an electric motor between the engine and nine-speed transmission driving the rear wheels, while two additional electric motors power both of the front wheels to provide true torque vectoring.

For Super Bowl 50, it has already been confirmed that 30-second ad spots will cost companies a record $5 million.
