With the Bentayga, Bentley has not only created the world’s most expensive, luxurious and fastest SUV , but also an entirely new segment.
It introduced up the high-end SUV market, which will soon include Maserati, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce – and, who knows, maybe others will follow suit in the future.
Making a car like the Bentayga certainly isn’t easy. Apart from a massive investment, it also requires the selection of the world’s top suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards are met. To help highlight the importance of people in launching its first-ever SUV, the British marque has dropped a video celebrating its creation.
Right from the early design stages through to its development, production and worldwide release, only the finest craftsman and designers have had the opportunity to work on the Bentayga. Bentley claims that it is a new benchmark for both luxury and performance SUVs.
While Lamborghini has revealed its intention to make its Urus SUV quicker and faster than the Bentayga, it is focused more on outright performance and driver involvement than luxury. Bentley’s true rival will be the impending Rolls-Royce SUV, the Cullinan. For now, though, there’s only one player in the game.
