A pristine Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta will go under the hammer in January 2016, and it’s expected to fetch anywhere between $2.8 and $3.5 million.

This example came to life in 1967 and was purchased three years later by Ferrari mechanic Terry Myr, who owned it ever since. It has matching engine and chassis numbers, along with the original leather interior in Saddle Tan and it was repainted in Grigio Mahmoud in the early ’70s.

Speaking of the engine, the prancing horse car is powered by a 3.3-liter V12 with two overhead cams per cylinder and six Weber carburetors, producing 300PS (296hp) and connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller mentions the independent suspension on all wheels and the four-wheel disc brakes too.

The exotic received an upgrade in the shape of an AM/FM radio and it had its odometer replaced. The correct mileage is said to be under 15,000km (9,320miles) and, besides the car, the buyer will also get the original owner’s manual, the wheel chock, the factory toll roll and the 45-year old bill of sale.

As a small history lesson, the 275 GTB and the 275 GT Spyder were introduced in 1964, on a similar chassis. The 275 GTB was designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti and it has similarities to the famous 250 GTO endurance racer.

Adding this mint sports car to a collection would be a great way to start the new year, but don’t forget the estimated price, which stands far out in the 7-figure zone.
