In facelifted guise, the Mercedes-AMG A45 delivers a class-leading 381 hp, just taking the power title from the Audi RS3 Sportback.

When joined with an all-wheel drive system and a dual-clutch transmission, the sprint to 62 mph takes a scarce 4.2 seconds and with the top speed limiter removed, 168 mph is achievable. For lucky A45 owners looking for even more power, tuning company Posaidon has just released its package for the hatchback.

Starting with a base A45, Posaidon has outfitted the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an enlarged turbocharger and custom air intake, lifting power to 485 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. To help handle that additional punch, modifications have been made to both the cooling system and gearbox.

When it is all said and done, the car can now accelerate all the way to 193 mph or 311km/h. While no acceleration figures have been released, the car will logically hit 62 mph or 100km/h in less than 4 seconds therefore knocking on the door of much more expensive and powerful supercars.

While some tuning companies would stop with engine improvements, Posaidon can install the OEM optional braking package or its very own big-brake system. The engine start/stop system can also be disabled.
