If the S8 Plus is the pinnacle of Audi engineering in terms of performance and comfort, then the R8 V10 plus is king of the mountain when it comes to speed and agility.

Plus is good, when it comes to the Ingolstadt giant. It’s the equivalent of ‘S’ in AMG S and stands for “faster than your fastest Audi”…or something along those lines.

The difference between the R8 V10 and the V10 plus is roughly 70 PS in terms of output but just 0.3 seconds in terms of their 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time. There’s also just 10 km/h (6 mph) between them top-speed wise and a little less weight in the ‘plus’ version.

In other words, the R8 V10 plus is more special than your average R8 and since we’re on the topic of special Audis, how about this shiny golden model, rocking glossy black 20″ alloys?

It’s on display and for sale exclusively at Audi Forum Neckarsulm and the reason why it’s wrapped in gold is due to its victory in the Golden Steering Wheel awards.

Speaking of awards, the R8 really deserves to be celebrated for its practical purpose. While many have complained that Audi didn’t improve on the design, the fact remains this car is immensely fast and has real-world power applications – meaning you don’t need to be a race car driver to get the most out of it.
