It may not be the real deal, but chances are we might something like it in the future.

Whether it will get the same design as this render, with the bare carbon fiber add-ons, the aggressive front fascia, elongated headlights, large roof scoop, changes made to the sides and the added rear wing is, of course, unknown but rumors about a hardcore version of the Huayra have been circulating for quite some time.

If the, tentatively named Huayra R, is green-lit, then it will get the same 6.0-liter Mercedes-AMG twin-turbo V12 as the “normal” version, but with more power compared to the current engine’s 730PS (720hp) and 1,000Nm (738lb-ft) of torque.

With all 100 units of the Pagani Huayra already sold out, the introduction of an even hotter version of the supercar is even more plausible.

However, first we will see the Roadster, which is expected to come next year. The open-top Huayra is not expected to carry any mechanical modifications over the coupe, meaning just over 3.0 seconds for the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) sprint and a top speed of 354km/h (220mph).

Even if we don’t know the timetable, Pagani Automobili will surely stick to the successful recipe of the Zonda, which came out in a lot of special, and very enticing, editions.
