Jannarelly’s New Design-1 Sports Car Is Priced From $55,000

Dubai-based startup Jannarelly has released full specs on its modern take on a classic sports car theme named new Design-1.

Anthony Jannarelly, the lead designer behind the Lykan Hypersport and the Fenyr Supersport, and Frederic Juillot, the Equation Composite carbon fiber parts producer, created the open-top model that will be launched in February of 2016.

The sports car is “a tribute to the 60s for car lovers in search of style, self-customization and performance“, as the company explains, with customers being able to choose between a non structural fiberglass or carbon fiber moulded body, along with lightweight carbon fiber parts.

The new Jannarelly Design-1 is 3,860mm long, 1,840mm wide and 1,080mm tall, with a front track of 1,584mm, a rear track of 1,600 mm and a wheelbase that spans to 2,425mm. The automaker also mentions the 16-inch lightweight alloys wrapped in 225/50 front and 245/45 rear Toyo R888 tires, behind which are front ventilated brake discs with 4-piston calipers and rear brake discs with 2-piston calipers.

The two-seater cabin comes with adjustable lightweight carbon fiber seats wrapped in leather and featuring four point quick release harnesses.

Under the hood, there’s a mid-mounted, naturally-aspirated, 3.5-liter (3,498cc) V6 rated at 304hp (308PS) and 371Nm (274lb-ft) of torque, connected to a 6-speed transverse manual transmission and a limited slip differential. 0 to 100km/h (62mph) takes around 4 seconds and top speed is estimated at 220km/h (135mph).

Jannarelly will offer a Special Launching Edition of the Design-1, limited to 30 cars, which will come with carbon fiber aerokit, rear polycarbonate spoiler, plumbed automatic extinguisher, Toyo tires R888 Proxes, aeroscreen, chrome accessories package and leather package. The “Road Pack” includes the projector headlamps, LED indicators, stop/tail/side/repeaters, rear fog lamp, reverse lamp, number plate lamp and horn.

The Jannarelly Design-1 Special Launching Edition will arrive in the hands of its first customers in summer of 2016 and each car will carry a price tag of “around $55,000”, with 10 percent payable at the booking, 40 percent when production starts and 50 percent at delivery.
