Released back in 2013 as part of Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the Lamborghini Egoista is certainly one of the craziest and most futuristic cars ever dreamt up by the firm. At the time, Lamborghini was adamant it was a strict one-off that would never hit the street. That may change.

It has just emerged that Lamborghini has trademarked the Egoista name under a selection of categories such as merchandise including clothing and toys. Most importantly, it’s been registered for “vehicles and conveyances”, indicating that the automaker in bringing the Egoista into production.

Of course, car manufacturers routinely trademark model names purely to protect them rather than to actually use them for a car. Nevertheless, given Lamborghini’s love for everything crazy, it’s possible it’s received enough interest from select buyers to produce the Egoista.

If that is the case, then it would inevitably be strictly limited in a similar vein to models before it like the Veneno and Veneno Roadster, Sesto Elemento and of course, the Reventon and Reventon Roadster duo. Powering the concept is the marque’s 5.2-litre V10 pumping out 600 hp and given that engine’s use in the Huracan, it could easily be used for a second model.

If the Egoista does reach the production line, it would have to undergo some design changes to ensure it is suitable for road use.
