On the back of an array of Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe prototypes being spied testing around the world, an image has just surfaced online showing the completed shell of a GLC Coupe.

Pictured at one of Mercedes-Benz’s manufacturing facilities, it seems apparent that Mercedes-Benz is nearing the end of the vehicle’s development process, ahead of the car’s predicted world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.

As the GLC Coupe will be based around the standard and more traditionally-shaped GLC SUV, don’t expect any radical changes for the Coupe.

Much of its design anyway has already been previewed thanks to the Concept GLC Coupe unveiled earlier in the year. One of the key elements found on the concept which we know won’t make it to the production model will be the Ferrari California and Lexus IS F-like stacked exhaust tips.

Underpinning the car will be the same MRA architecture as the C-Class and the GLC. The range of engines on offer, that will consist of four and six-cylinder turbocharged powertrains, will mostly be shared with these too.

Arguably the most exciting power system being developed for the GLC Coupe will be a plug-in hybrid model. It is tipped to utilize a 2.0-liter turbcharged petrol engine joined with a 6.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor, making for a total of 279 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.
