MINI Adds Geneva And Beijing To List Of Auto Shows It’s Skipping In 2016

Not long after it was confirmed that MINI would be skipping next year’s Detroit Auto Show, the British firm has announced that it will also be absent from both the Geneva and Beijing motor shows, as the company reduces its auto show appearances.

MINI is said to have pulled out of the three aforementioned shows due to a change in its marketing activities. The automaker won’t be in hibernation for all of 2016 however with it set to make at appearance at the New York Auto Show in April.

Speaking to Autocar, a Mini insider said: “The first major motor show for Mini in 2016 will be the New York motor show in April. We have decided to cut back on our motor show presence during the early part of the year.”

Despite its reduced presence at auto shows, MINI is expected to introduce at least two key new models next year. The first will be a Clubman John Cooper Works, tipped for a release at the New York Auto Show alongside a four-wheel drive version of the Clubman. Then in September’s Paris Motor Show, the second-generation Mini Countryman will be unveiled.
