If you thought you were having a bad day, spare a thought for a number of residents in Xingtai, China who were seemingly hit by supernatural forces creating one of the most curious car crashes we’ve ever seen.
Captured by local CCTV cameras, the footage shows a small van being hoisted up into the air and flung backwards into another van which itself is lifted onto its back wheels and pushed away from traffic.
After watching the video for the first time, it is as if the van smashed into an invisible wall or was pushed back by an exceptionally heavy and strong gust of wind. However, the answer is a bit more logical, yet still quite bizarre.
Locals discovered that a thick steel cable was caught in a passing street sweeper moving up the road. The taught cable essentially acted as a tripwire for the other cars throwing them backwards with force.
While no injuries were sustained to those involved, the two vans and a small sedan have suffered varying degrees of damage.
We can’t imagine explaining this one to the insurance company…
