Mercedes released new images of their updated two-seater roadster-coupe which now comes with the name SLC.

The new Mercedes SLC is essentially the facelifted version of the SLK, with the heaviest of the updates concentrated on the front end, to bring the two-seater roadster visually in line with the rest of the range.

With a choice between a turbocharged 1.6-litre, two also turbo 2.0-litre and one 2.2-litre diesel, the SLC offers a wide variety of selection to potential customers, with power ranging from 154hp to 242hp for the SLC 300 version while the diesel 250 makes 201hp.

Sitting on top of the range is the SLC 43 which introduces the twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, making 362hp and mated exclusively to the company’s nine-speed auto transmission 9G-Tronic. All this hardware allows the fastest SLC so far to accelerate from zero to 62mph (0-100km/h) in 4.7 seconds and on to a limited 155mph (250km/h).

Sadly though, this means that you can no longer have the compact roadster with the sonorous AMG 5.5-litre V8.
