One-off Koenigsegg One:1 Development Car For Sale At Eye-Watering $6 Million

Restricted to just 6 customer cars worldwide, the Koenigsegg One:1 is one of the rarest modern-day supercars.

Unsurprisingly, all examples managed to quickly find homes prompting the Swedish marque to part ways with the one and only One:1 development car produced, with it up for sale from Super Vettura in the United Kingdom.

This particular One:1 was not only the example shown to the world at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show but it was also used to develop the record-setting hypercar. As such, it is the holder of the 0-186-0 mph sprint as well as being the fastest production car to lap both Spa Francorchamps and the Suzuka circuit in Japan.

Super Vettura is asking an insane $6 million for the car which is quite absurd considering the base price for the U.S. market was $2.85 million. When one considers the fact that Koenigseggs aren’t really gaining value, we’d be very surprised to see this example change hands for anywhere near $6 million.

Nevertheless, it is undeniably impressive. Power for the car is provided by a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 1360 hp. When combined with the 1360 kg kerb weight, the One:1 has a perfect power-to-weight ratio of 1 hp per kilogram, hence the vehicle’s name.

Super Vettura claims that the car will be available for delivery next month.

While it’s exciting to see one extra One:1 being sold, it is disheartening for one main reason. Seeing as though Koenigsegg has now parted ways with its One:1 development car, it won’t be able to attempt a flying lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife when the speed limits are lifted next year.
